- Used to join two pieces of pipe or connect valves in a piping system; allow for mobility in a piping system by being bolted together for on and off installations.
- Unique in the fact they have a raised face on the interior portion of the flange; this raised face provides (in combination with a gasket) excellent sealing properties.
- The forging process in ANSI flanges also allows for the flange to be tightened considerably to prevent leakage and to provide stability in a vibration situation.
