Sump Pumps
Sump Pumps for Reliable Basement and Crawlspace Drainage
A sump pump sits in a basin dug into the lowest point of a basement or crawlspace and automatically pumps groundwater out and away from the foundation before it can flood the space. At 24hr Supply, we stock the sump pumps contractors trust most - Liberty Pumps and Zoeller submersible cast iron models, Little Giant utility and effluent-rated pumps, and Everflow pedestal and backup units - sized from light residential duty up to heavy commercial dewatering.
Submersible sump pumps run fully underwater in the basin, which keeps them quiet and out of the way, while pedestal pumps keep the motor mounted above the basin for easier servicing and a longer motor life. Most residential basins call for a 1/3 to 1/2 HP pump moving 30 to 70 GPM, and float switch style - tethered, vertical, or electronic - determines how tight a basin the pump can work in without short-cycling.
Size the pump to your basin diameter, discharge pipe length, and the vertical lift to daylight or the storm line, and always check local code before tying a sump discharge into a sanitary sewer. For homes at risk of power outages, pair your primary sump pump with a battery backup system, or add a dedicated effluent pump for graywater removal in a separate basin.
