Schier Grease Trap Kits & Commercial Grease Interceptors

Shop Schier grease trap kits and Great Basin hydromechanical grease interceptors for restaurants, commercial kitchens, foodservice facilities, and other applications where fats, oils, and grease need to be separated from wastewater.

This category includes Schier GB-50, GB-75, GB-250, GB-500, and GB-1000 grease interceptors. The right model depends on more than tank size. Flow rate, grease storage capacity, pipe connections, installation location, cover type, connected fixtures, and local plumbing requirements should all be considered when selecting an interceptor.

Compare Schier Grease Interceptor Sizes

Schier Great Basin models range from compact 50 GPM commercial interceptors to 1,000-gallon systems with more than 5,000 lbs. of grease storage capacity. Some larger models are available in multiple flow configurations, so a larger tank does not necessarily mean a higher GPM rating.

Model Flow Rate Liquid Capacity Grease Capacity
GB-50 50 GPM* 65 gal. 439.5 lbs.
GB-75 75 GPM 125 gal. 861 lbs.
GB-250 100 / 200 GPM, select 250 GPM model 277 gal. Up to 1,895 lbs.
GB-500 100 / 200 GPM, select 500 GPM model 510 gal. Up to 3,271 lbs.
GB-1000 100 / 200 GPM 1,000 gal. Up to 5,495 lbs.

*The GB-50 products offered in this category are configured for 50 GPM. Grease capacity can vary by flow rate and configuration. Select GB-250 and GB-500 high-flow models use factory flow ratings that should be reviewed against local code before specification.

Schier GB-50 Grease Interceptors

The Schier GB-50 is the smallest model currently offered in this category. The 50 GPM configurations shown here have a 65-gallon liquid capacity and approximately 439.5 lbs. of grease capacity.

These models are a good fit when a commercial installation calls for a relatively compact hydromechanical grease interceptor without the storage capacity of the larger GB-75, GB-250, or GB-500.

Schier GB-75 Grease Interceptors

The Schier GB-75 steps up to 75 GPM, with a 125-gallon liquid capacity and approximately 861 lbs. of grease capacity.

Compared with the GB-50 models offered here, the GB-75 provides 50% more rated flow and nearly twice the liquid and grease storage capacity.

Schier GB-250 Grease Interceptors

The Schier GB-250 has a 277-gallon liquid capacity and provides a major increase in grease storage compared with the GB-50 and GB-75.

Standard GB-250 configurations represented here are certified at 100 or 200 GPM. Select 6-inch high-flow versions are also factory-rated for 250 GPM. Grease capacity varies with flow rate, reaching approximately 1,895 lbs. at 100 GPM and 1,196 lbs. at 200 GPM.

Schier GB-500 Grease Interceptors

The Schier GB-500 provides a 510-gallon liquid capacity and is available in several commercial configurations.

Depending on the model, GB-500 interceptors represented here include 100 and 200 GPM certified configurations, as well as the special GB-500-500HF factory-rated for 500 GPM. Grease storage capacity varies by configuration and flow rate, with select models holding more than 3,000 lbs. of grease.

Schier GB-1000 Grease Interceptors

The Schier GB-1000 is the largest Great Basin interceptor offered in this category, with a 1,000-gallon liquid capacity.

It is available in 100 and 200 GPM configurations. Grease capacity reaches approximately 5,495 lbs. at 100 GPM and 4,959 lbs. at 200 GPM.

The GB-1000 is also notable because Schier certifies it for use as both a hydromechanical grease interceptor and a gravity grease interceptor, giving engineers and contractors another option for large commercial grease management systems.

Composite vs. Cast Iron Covers

Many Schier grease trap kits and grease interceptors are available with either composite or cast iron covers. The right option depends on where the interceptor will be installed and the type of surface loading expected above it.

On applicable larger Great Basin models, Schier's composite covers are pedestrian-rated with a minimum 2,000-lb. load capacity. Traffic-rated cast iron covers are available with a minimum 16,000-lb. load capacity for installations that require heavier surface loading.

Always confirm the specific cover rating for the model being ordered and make sure the installation complies with local requirements.

How to Choose the Right Schier Grease Trap Kit

Selecting a grease interceptor should not be based on tank size alone. Contractors and engineers should consider the required flow rate, connected fixtures, expected grease production, grease storage capacity, connection size, installation conditions, and local plumbing or wastewater code.

For smaller commercial applications, the GB-50 and GB-75 offer 50 and 75 GPM options. The GB-250 provides substantially greater storage with higher-flow configurations. The GB-500 moves into a 510-gallon capacity class, while the GB-1000 provides the greatest liquid and grease storage capacity in this category.
