Viessmann has developed new DHW indirect tanks designed for pairing with the Vitocal air-to-water heat pump and system water buffer tank included with the Vitocal 100-AW.
A unique feature is the modular design to meet different requirements in new build and modernization projects. This allows for the most efficient use of the installation area, which is often small in new buildings. Vitocell 100-E modular buffer tanks are conveniently designed to allow installation nested on top of Vitocell 100-V DHW tanks for maximum flexibility and space savings.
Easy transport into mechanical room
In modernization projects, maneuverability is often a challenge. The separate tank modules and integrated carry handles on the DHW tanks facilitate easier transport that installers will appreciate.
Designed for low temperature heat pump applications
Compared to conventional DHW indirect tanks, the new Vitocell 100-V (type CVWC) features larger heat exchanger surfaces, specifically designed to perform efficiently with the lower flow temperatures of heat pumps. Pairing with boilers like the Vitodens, unlocks superb performance with high levels of DHW convenience. This tank offers the flexibility to seamlessly integrate with both air to water heat pumps and boiler systems for DHW production.
Flexible options with the system water buffer tank
Included with the Vitocal 100-AW heat pump, the Vitocell 100-E system water buffer tank (type MSCA) comes with a capacity of 20 USG (75 L) and is suitable for heating and cooling thanks to its highly effective thermal insulation.
The modular buffer tank can be placed on top of the Vitocell 100-V tank requiring an installation area of less than 6 ft² (0.5 m²). To allow easy implementation of the system-side connection, the system water buffer tank can be rotated 360 degrees.

- The positioning of the tubular heat exchanger coil in conjunction with the DCW diffuser further ensures that 82% to 97% of the tank volume can be drawn at constant water temperature.
- The heat exchanger coil is self-venting towards the top and self-draining towards the bottom, therefore not susceptible to reduced heat transfer due to air lock or deposits.
- Standby losses minimized by highly effective HCFC free foam.

- In conformance with CSA Low Lead Content Certification Program; including US Safe Drinking Water Act, NSF/ANSI 372 as well as other applicable US State requirements.
